cultural center 500 3One of the most enriching and captivating programs which distinguish Temple Israel of New Rochelle is the Gladys and Murray Goldstein Cultural Center. Named in honor of esteemed past presidents Gladys and Murray Goldstein, the Cultural Center serves as a modern living center of Jewish cultural center 500 2culture–a comfortable, intimate space where congregants and visitors can witness presentations of Judaic art, archeological artifacts and contemporary Israeli art, as well as traveling exhibits from recognized and established museums. After originally serving as a music room and later as a Braille bindery, the Cultural Center was established to exhibit art and artifacts drawn from the vast treasury of American and Jewish artistic history. With its displays of beautiful, commemorative photographs and storied objects, this cache of memorabilia provides an illuminating tribute to the Jewish people's contributions to arts and culture.

Past events have showcased Jewish traditional artifacts, heirlooms from Temple Israel's own Judaic collection, original artwork created by Temple Israel's members, themed creations by Early Childhood Program classes, and traveling exhibits dealing with past and modern Jewish life and the Holocaust.cultural center 500 1

Open to congregants as well as the general public, these exhibits underscore the richness of our Jewish heritage and the role played by Temple Israel in memorializing and celebrating the accomplishments and experiences of our people. For more information on exhibiting artwork, please call the Temple Israel main office at (914) 235-1800.
