Temple Israel of New Rochelle believes that nothing is more important than engaging and educating our children in Judaism. No child is too young to experience all that we have to offer. For years, Temple Israel has been a leader in creative programming for children under six years of age. Temple Israel is constantly growing our program offerings for children under six and their families. The commitment that Temple Israel has made to this age group is most obvious by our recent investment in the renovation of our early childhood wing. During the week, this wing is a dedicated space for the Kehillah School; on the weekends, all of our programs for families with young children, as well as the youngest students in the Religious School, enjoy our beautiful new space. Come introduce your youngster to all the wonderful happenings here at Temple Israel.
Our TOT SHABBAT celebrations are a monthly burst of energy focused on the warmth, comfort, love and fun, so that families can spend time together during Shabbat in the synagogue. Families join our clergy in a casual gathering of song and prayer, art and refreshments. Of course we include a bagel brunch and schmoozing! These events are often the highlight of the month for our families with young children – the moms and dads have as much fun as the children!

TWOSDAYS for TOTS will be back by popular demand starting in January 2012. Children approaching 2 and their parent(s) or adult caregiver(s) "drop-in" on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am. TWOSDAYS is FREE, open to the community and registration is not required. It is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the school environment and an early childhood education schedule of activities with the security of adult support. Children will have experiences such as group games, cooking/baking, open-ended art, sing-a-long with Ms. Nancy, creative movement and much, much more!

Our
NEWLY DESIGNED PLAYGROUNDS are open and available for congregational use during the weekends. We offer three different play areas, one for non-walkers, one for toddlers and one for older children. Children are required to be supervised appropriately by adults and we all must keep our shared space in clean and safe condition.
PARENTING CENTER Our clergy and educational team is investigating and strategizing inventive new programs for adults becoming parents, growing and learning as parents, and practicing as parents. All innovative ideas and suggestions are welcome. Would you be interested in parent CPR? Birthing or parenting classes? Sibling classes for soon to be big sisters and brothers?
Please email your comments and suggestions to Nancy Bossov, Director of Early Childhood Programs, or call her at (914) 235-1800.
